Privacy Policy
BigIdea.com, BigIdeaFun.com, Larryboy.com, BigIdeaVBS.com, JonahMovie.com, and BigideaFoundation.org are operated by Big Idea, Inc. At Big Idea, our purpose and goal is to bring the uniquely creative storytelling of Big Idea to the world through fun and engaging interactive media. We will welcome our visitors more warmly, entertain more creatively, help parents to parent more effectively and treat guests with the utmost respect. And we take the issue of privacy very seriously. We respect the privacy of children, and do not collect any more personal information than is reasonably necessary to enable them to participate in the activities we offer at our Web sites.
Kids: Be sure to ask your parents for permission before you send any information about yourself (your name, address, e-mail address, etc.) to us or anyone else over the Internet.
Parents and Guardians: We encourage you to get involved with your children's online usage and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating. While we welcome all of our guests to enjoy the many features of our site, we encourage you to limit your children's time online. When used properly, the Internet can be entertaining and educational. But even we at Big Idea realize that there is a lot more to a well-balanced life than penguins from outer space or songs composed by a cucumber.
Information Collection Policies
At our sites, we have a policy of collecting limited personally identifiable information. To enable children to participate in some of our online activities, we may ask them to provide us with their first name and e-mail address. Big Idea will only use this information for internal purposes -- for fulfillment of a requested transaction or to respond to children?s specific requests to participate in activities, such as sending electronic greeting cards.
On some of the pages of our sites, such as where children can send electronic postcards or game links to their friends, we may ask your child to provide personal information about other people. This is usually limited to a first name and e-mail address. These personal information will be deleted from our records as soon as the e-mail card is sent. On some pages where newsletter or "VeggieGram" signups are available, visitors are required to be 13 years old or older to sign up.
When you or your child visits our sites, we automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information, such as the type of computer operating system (e.g., Windows 98 or Mac OS) and browser (e.g., Netscape or Internet Explorer) that you use, and the domain name of your Internet service provider (e.g., America Online, Earthlink). (See "Cookies," below.) We use this information to improve the design and content of our site, and to enable us to personalize your Internet experience. We also may use this information in the aggregate to analyze site usage and to offer you products, programs or services.
We Do Not Share Personal Information
We do not share any personal information with anyone other than those who provide support for the internal operations of the Web sites, and our agents (e.g., contractors who provide fulfillment services, such as credit card processing, product order processing, or technical support to the Web site). All such agents or contractors with whom we share information have agreed to maintain the security and integrity of personal information.
Product Orders: Big Idea uses an order form for users to request products and order information. For that order form, we collect the user's name, e-mail address, organization, billing address, phone number, shipping address, and necessary financial information to process the order (i.e. credit card number). The user is given the opportunity to have his address stored for his next purchase. Big Idea uses a third party called Parable Interactive to accept and process orders for merchandise and products. In particular, Parable hosts the ordering system and order data. Parable automatically collects order information but may only use the information in the aggregate to process orders. Parable uses a standard and reliable encryption technology to protect any personal information as it travels across the Internet. Parable has also agreed to maintain the security and integrity of personal and credit card information.
We will disclose the information we maintain when required to do so by law -- for example, in response to a court order or subpoena. We may also disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency's request.
If Big Idea, or substantially all of its assets, are acquired, the information we collect may be one of the transferred assets. Any such transfer will be subject to applicable privacy laws.
