Long piece of rope, 26 paper plates or pieces of paper, marker, watch.

To set up, print large letters from A to Z on paper plates or pieces of paper -- one letter per plate or paper. Place these letters randomly inside a square area marked by a rope in your living room. This is your pot of alphabet soup. Tell participants they must touch the letters in order from A to Z. However, only one person can be inside the pot of soup at a time. To succeed, each person must wait their turn until the group decides it's that person's turn to participate. For example, the person closest to the letter A jumps in and touches the letter A. Another person must wait until the first person gets back outside the pot of soup before he or she can jump in to touch the letter B. The goal is to touch all the letters in order from A to Z in the quickest time possible. If more than one person enters the pot of soup, then 10 seconds is added to the group's time. If a letter is touched out of order, then 10 seconds is also added. Try several attempts. Do group planning in between the attempts to see if the group can reduce its time.

How did it feel to wait your turn until you were able to participate? Were you still able to help the group while you waited? How did the group work together to get the fastest time possible?
