Balls, blindfold, watch.

Form teams of three. Each person will have one of three roles -- picker, speaker, or director. The picker is blindfolded and faces the "berry field," which has three large "berries" (e.g., balls) placed about 20 feet away from the group. Standing back to back with the picker is the speaker. The speaker must face away and not look at the berry field at any time. The director stands in front of the speaker and is not allowed to talk. The goal for the group is to help the picker get the three berries and bring them to the speaker. Remember, the picker can't see. The speaker can't look at the field -- only watch the director. And the director can't talk -- hand signals and body language only. Time how long it takes to pick and retrieve your three berries. Try to improve your time, or switch roles and try again.

How did you feel while playing each role? Which role did you think was the hardest? The easiest? What is one thing you learned and how could this help you improve communication in your family?
