Marshmallows, toothpicks, paper.

Your goal is to build a tower 8.5 inches tall. Use the short side of a piece of paper as your guide to get your tower to the right height. To get your building materials for your tower, say something you appreciate about your dad, mom, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, or other family member. For example, I like dad because he takes time to play ball with me, or I appreciate my sister because she helps me with my homework. For every statement of appreciation you give, you can collect either 10 marshmallows or 10 toothpicks for your team. When you feel you have enough marshmallows and toothpicks, then start to build your tower. Here's the catch. One person on your team may touch only marshmallows. The other person on your team may touch only toothpicks. Talk about how you want to design your tower and then work together to build it. Run out of materials? Then say more things you appreciate about your family.

How did it feel to say things you appreciate about members of your family? How did it feel to hear others say nice things about you?
