Five various sized balls.

Tell each participant to touch the side of a large ball (e.g., beach ball) with one finger only. Each of you must stay in contact with the ball with one finger during the activity. Keeping the ball up, move together to another room in the house, touch the ground with your free hand, and then return. If the ball drops, pick it up and start over. Too easy? Now try it again with a smaller ball (e.g., basketball) and a different finger. Go again. Remember to use a new finger each time -- no repeats. Tennis ball? Golf ball? Ping pong ball?

What strategies did you use to hold up the smaller balls? If you dropped a ball, what was your reaction? How does this reflect how your family reacts to failure? How did your family react to success? How can you encourage one another when either failure or success happens?
