Plastic spoons, tape, newspaper, cups, bowl, watch, popcorn or other light snack food.

To set up, roll a large sheet of newspaper tightly into a tube 2½ feet long. Use tape to keep it from unraveling. Then tape the handle of a plastic spoon to one of the ends of the tube. When complete, your new utensil should look like a spoon with a very, very long handle. Make one of these utensils for each participant. This is your stretch scoop. Ask everyone to sit in a circle around a bowl filled with popcorn or other light snack food. Give each person a cup, which they must hold against their stomach for the entire activity. Give everyone a stretch scoop and tell them they can only hold the very end of the handle. To play, tell everyone the goal is to get as much popcorn as you can into your own cup. Remember, your cup must stay in contact with your stomach and you may hold only the very end of the handle. Start scooping! Think more practice will help? Try several one minute rounds to see if you can increase the amount of popcorn in your cup.

Did your results improve after several rounds of trying? Did someone realize the need to help each other? If so, how did you choose to work together so everyone experienced a better result?
