Quarter, pennies, kitchen pot or bucket.

Fill a large kitchen pot or bucket with 6 inches of water. Put a quarter in the middle of the bottom of the pot or bucket. The goal for each participant is to cover the quarter with pennies. Drop pennies one at a time from above the water. When you've completely covered the quarter, count how many pennies it took for you to do it. Retrieve the pennies and let another person try it.

What techniques did you use to try to cover up the quarter? How are these techniques similar to what we do when we try to cover up a lie? Why is telling the truth better than lying -- even when telling the truth is sometimes harder to do? |
